In 1992, Georgios Chr. Schizas, founder and owner, conceived the vision of a pioneering business activity in the management and trade of recyclable materials. After 32 years of continuous, intense business activity and unwavering commitment to a constantly developing sector, our company — now GS RECYCLING S.A. — operates in full compliance with international operational standards. We are distinguished by environmentally rational management of recyclable and unusable materials, and by collection and processing methods that cover a large share of the domestic production process.

The sorting, management, and mechanical processing unit for non-hazardous solid waste, based in Aspropyrgos, with an initial capacity of 4,000 m³, was put into operation. It included a sorting station, a production line with a stationary baling press, and temporary storage areas for separated material streams.

The unit was expanded by 13,000 m³, increasing its capacity and storage spaces.

Today, the privately-owned facilities of GS RECYCLING cover a total area of 31,000 m³. They include buildings that house the offices and administration, as well as state-of-the-art infrastructure with two fully equipped sorting lines, two production lines with stationary baling presses, maintenance areas, and additional storage spaces.

The facilities are equipped with modern mechanical and technological systems, along with a wide range of work machinery (loaders, small and large forklifts, overhead cranes, forklifts and shredders). Thanks to the latest technology, they ensure production processes of the highest standards.

A cornerstone for GS RECYCLING is the implementation of systems and policies designed to guarantee a healthy and safe working environment. The goal is to produce recyclable materials of the highest standards, through regular quality controls during their management, while maintaining a stance of responsibility and respect toward the environment and society.
