The company began its activity under the name GEORGIOS CHR. SCHIZAS in 1992. After an expansion of its business operations, it was renamed GS RECYCLING in 2017 and continues to this day to be active in the collection, transportation, and proper management of recyclable and waste materials. The sorting, management, and mechanical processing unit for non-hazardous solid waste, based in Aspropyrgos, of an initial area of 4,000m³, commenced operation in 2001.

Georgios Schizas, founder and now owner of the corporation GS RECYCLING S.A., conceived the vision of a pioneering business activity in the field of management and trading of recyclable materials.
After 32 years of continuous and vigorous business activity and unceasing dedication to the continually developing sector, our company, adhering to all international operating standards, is distinguished for the environmentally rational management of recyclable or waste materials and the methods of collection and processing, holding a large share of the domestic production process.
The unit for the sorting, management, and mechanical processing of non-hazardous solid waste, based in Aspropyrgos, of an initial area of 4,000 m³, was put into operation and included a sorting point, a production line with one fixed baling press, and a space for the temporary storage of the separated streams.
The unit was expanded by 13,000 m³, increasing its capacity and the storage areas.
Today, the privately owned facilities of GS RECYCLING extend over a total surface area of 31,000 m³ and include building facilities that house the offices and the administration, model infrastructures that host the two sorting lines with fully equipped sorting stations, two production lines with fixed presses – balers, maintenance areas, and additional storage areas.
They are equipped with modern mechanical and electromechanical equipment, as well as a wide range of construction machinery (backhoes, loaders of small and large type, forklift trucks and crushers) of the latest technology, ensuring a high-standard production process.
Facilities
The modern building facilities, equipped with advanced-technology systems and highly trained human resources, ensure the efficient operation of the unit and of the privately owned fleet of 14 vehicles of all types.
A cornerstone for GS RECYCLING is the systems and policies applied with the aim of ensuring a healthy and safe working environment, with the purpose of producing recyclable materials of high specifications, through regular quality controls during their management, maintaining a stance of responsibility and respect toward the environment and society as a whole.
